GMercyU Nursing Program Earns Highest-Ever NCLEX-RN Pass Rate

Gwynedd Mercy University’s Nursing program earned its highest-ever NCLEX-RN first-time pass rate during the 2025-2026 examination period.

GMercyU's Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program achieved an outstanding NCLEX-RN first-time pass rate of 96.04%, with 97 out of 101 graduates successfully passing the exam. GMercyU’s Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing program received a 100% first-time pass rate for the second year in a row.

The NCLEX-RN is a national licensing exam that nursing graduates must pass to become registered nurses (RNs) in the United States or Canada.

Mercy nurses are needed more than ever and I am so incredibly proud of our graduates who will make a real and lasting difference in the communities where they live and work. I appreciate and applaud our faculty and staff who work diligently to ensure our students are prepared to be competent and compassionate nurses when they graduate.

- Jane H. Tang, PhD, RN, NE-BC, Dean of GMercyU’s Frances M. Maguire College of Nursing & Health Professions

These historic results reflect GMercyU’s continued investment and legacy in healthcare education, including the opening of the Frances M. Maguire '55 Healthcare Innovation Center (HIC) in August 2025. As the largest academic building on campus, the HIC prepares students to address the healthcare needs of today and tomorrow, with the goal of improving access and equity to high quality compassionate care for all.

A leader in healthcare education for nearly 70 years, GMercyU has graduated more than 1,300 nursing students since Fall 2020. In response to workforce gaps, the University offers several programs designed to prepare the next generation of nurses, including the traditional 4-year BSN program, a new fast-track 3-year BSN program, as well as a 16-month Accelerated BSN and three-year Weekend BSN for students who already have a bachelor’s degree and want to become a nurse. For students looking to earn both a BSN and MSN, the University also offers a 20-month Direct Entry MSN.

Students in these programs also have the opportunity to apply for GMercyU's Scholars Program, which offers up to $65,000 in loan repayment in return for a multi-year work commitment at several well-known health systems.

The University also re-launched its RN-to-BSN program to meet the need for more bachelor-prepared nurses in the Commonwealth and beyond in January 2027.

GMercyU’s new Master of Science in Nursing – Nurse Educator Track, Post-Master's Certificate in Nursing Education, and EdD in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education – Nurse Education are currently accepting applications for Spring 2027. These programs help BSN- and MSN-prepared nurses step into teaching and leadership roles in academic, clinical, and professional settings, helping educate the next generation of nurses and strengthen the nursing workforce.
