Catherine's Cupboard
Catherine’s Cupboard provides access to food and other resources when you need them. Providing access to the support students need is central to our Mercy mission. All inquiries and requests are kept confidential.
Food and Other Necessities: If hunger is getting in the way of your student success, Catherine’s Cupboard is here to help. In addition to fresh, frozen, and packaged food, Catherine's Cupboard has personal hygiene products, baby care items, and other household necessities. There also is a limited supply of scrubs for nursing and health majors. Please take advantage of the resources that are available to you!
Catherine's Cupboard at Tabor House for grocery pick ups. There are a variety of shelf-stable foods, frozen meats and vegetables, fresh produce, yogurt, cheese, eggs, household products, personal care products and diapers. Students can choose the items they need for themselves or their families. Interested students should reach out to catherinescupboard@gmercyu.edu. Groceries are funded, in part, by grants, private donors, the PA Department of Education, as well as local community partnerships with the Resilient Student Network (RSN), Manna on Main Street, Montco Anti-Hunger Network (MAHN), and the Garden of Health.
If entering campus via Sumneytown Pike, Tabor House is located before the Public Safety Booth on the right. Turn right onto the street immediately before the Public Safety Booth; Tabor House is the second house on the left; it has steps and a ramp into the building.
Self-Serve Options: These locations are open whenever classes are in session, including Saturdays.
Transportation Assistance: If you commute to campus and need help covering the cost of gas or public transportation, you may qualify for assistance. Email catherinescupboard@gmercyu.edu for more information.
Emergency Funds: Through private funders and our partnership with the Resilient Student Network, GMercyU students can apply for limited emergency funding. Reach out to Catherine's Cupboard for more information.
