Southcoast Health Nursing Scholars
Become a nurse, launch your career at Southcoast Health, and receive up to $40,000 in loan repayment funds!
Through a special partnership, GMercyU Nursing students can apply to Southcoast Health's Nursing Scholars program.
Upon graduation, licensure, and beginning work full-time at Southcoast Health's Charlton Memorial Hospital, Southcoast Health will make monthly payments towards your student loans, up to $40,000, over 36 months.
Payments do not begin until you’re working full-time. If your plans change before starting work, you owe nothing to Southcoast. If you leave the work commitment early, you are not required to pay back any funding you’ve already received. You would simply assume responsibility for the remainder of your student loan debt.

Who Is Eligible
- Students in one of these GMercyU Nursing programs:
- Be in good academic standing with a competitive GPA
- Be a United States Citizen, Permanent Resident, or with residency under DACA or TPS programs
Selection isn’t guaranteed simply by meeting the criteria.
Your Next Steps
- Enroll as a new or returning GMercyU BSN student
- Apply to the Southcoast Health Nursing Scholars program 18-24 months before completing your degree
