Guthrie Nursing Scholars
Become a nurse, launch your career at The Guthrie Clinic system, and receive up to $65,000 in loan repayment funds!
Through a special partnership, GMercyU Nursing students can apply to Guthrie's Nursing Scholars program.
Upon graduation, licensure, and beginning work full-time, Guthrie will make monthly payments towards your student loans, up to $65,000, during three years. The Guthrie Clinic includes 6 hospital campuses, a large medical group, home health, long-term care, and hospice services in Pennsylvania and New York.
Payments do not begin until you’re working full-time. If your plans change before starting work, you owe nothing to Guthrie. If you leave the work commitment early, you are not required to pay back any funding you’ve already received. You would simply assume responsibility for the remainder of your student loan debt.

Who Is Eligible
- Students in one of these GMercyU Nursing programs:
- Be in good academic standing with a competitive GPA
- Be a United States Citizen, Permanent Resident, or with residency under DACA or TPS programs
Selection isn’t guaranteed simply by meeting the criteria.
Your Next Steps
- Enroll as a new or returning GMercyU BSN student
- Apply to the Guthrie Nursing Scholars program 18-24 months before completing your degree
