Gwynedd Mercy University and Immaculata University have established a new partnership to create a pathway for IU students to enroll in GMercyU’s Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP), and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) programs.
“We’re beyond excited to pair our exceptional MSOT and DNP programs with successful graduates looking to further their education,” said Mary Van Brunt, PhD, GMercyU’s Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. “At GMercyU, we’re committed to educating and guiding the next generation of passionate healthcare professionals who strive to serve their communities.”
Through the new partnership, select Immaculata students will have the opportunity to earn a guaranteed interview for GMercyU’s competitive graduate-level Occupational Therapy program. The top three undergraduate candidates from IU who apply to the program and meet all admissions requirements will be selected for an interview. Ultimately, a candidate’s admission into the program will be decided based on their interview performance and application packet. GMercyU’s MSOT Program was founded in 2017 and is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
Additionally, students from Immaculata’s MSN program can apply for admission to GMercyU’s online accelerated DNP program. In order to be eligible for the DNP program, IU students must complete all required coursework and meet academic requirements for admission. GMercyU’s DNP program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Both the DNP and MSOT programs are offered through GMercyU’s Frances M. Maguire School of Nursing and Health Professions.
“Immaculata University prepares our nursing students and science majors to enter graduate school so they can excel in their chosen field,” states Angela Tekely, EdD, Immaculata’s Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. “I am pleased that our new partnership with Gwynedd Mercy University will continue that level of excellence.”
