Fairmount String Quartet in a Concert by Female Composers

String Quartet
Julia Ball Auditorium
8:00 pm

The Fairmount String Quartet has been providing the highest quality live music for events from chamber music concerts to full orchestra performances and choral accompaniments, corporate events, receptions, wedding ceremonies and religious services for 30 years.  Their unparalleled quality, experience, and professionalism has earned them the privilege of playing at the weddings of musicians from The Philadelphia Orchestra, Saturday Night Live band, Boyz II Men, multiple Grammy winners — and countless music lovers.

The ensemble’s performances include chamber music series, such as Candlelight Concerts at Laurel Hill Mansion and Kent Chamber Music Series, and at colleges such as Valley Forge Christian College and Drexel University. The Fairmount String Quartet is committed to education at every level. In elementary school assemblies, high school workshops, a university master class or residency setting, each and every member finds joy in sharing their wealth of expertise. It is this deep-seated passion that allows the Fairmount String Quartet to shine alongside students of all ages.

The Fairmount Ensemble is also dedicated to the local and global communities. They have performed in local retirement communities and shared their talents with non-profits such as The American Cancer Society and The March of Dimes and the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. The program will feature works by Female Composers, including Jennifer Higdon, Ethel Smyth and Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel.
