You may apply to LVHN Scholars by completing a simple application. If accepted, you will continue to work on completing your degree with the expectation of employment and loan repayment upon graduate and licensure.

All students loans, both federal and private, are typically eligible for repayment through this program.

Once you graduate, are licensed as an RN or RT, and are working full-time, LVHN will make monthly payments towards your student loans. Payments will be made on your behalf until your work commitment period ends or you cease employment at LVHN prior to the end of the 3-year commitment.

Students in one of these GMercyU programs are eligible to apply:

You must also:

  • Be in good academic standing with a GPA of at least 2.3
  • Be a United States Citizen, Permanent Resident, or with residency under DACA or TPS programs

Selection isn’t guaranteed simply by meeting the criteria.

Life happens. Here's what happens if...

You're accepted but your plans change before you graduate: Payments only begin once you're licensed and working full-time at the health system. This structure reduces risk for both you and your employer.

You start work but leave before the end of your work commitment: You won't be required to pay back any payments that have already been made on your behalf. Instead, you would simply become responsible for any remaining student loan debt upon your departure.

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), part of Jefferson Health, together is among the top 15 not-for-profit health systems in the U.S. LVHN is comprised of 15 hospital campuses plus numerous health centers, physician practices, rehabilitation locations, and other outpatient care locations in 10 eastern Pennsylvania counties. LVHN's core values are to put people first, do what’s right, and pursue excellence.

In addition to Magnet designation by the ANCC, hospitals in the LVHN system have been awarded Leapfrog’s “A” grade for patient safety and ranked sixth among Pennsylvania’s top 10 hospitals. The LVHN system has been recognized by Fortune and Statista as one of America’s Most Innovative Companies and is Great Place to Work certified, confirming that 7 out of 10 employees have a consistently positive experience at LVHN.
