John M. Bindo, OTD, OTR/L, MHA, LNHA
John M. Bindo, OTD,OTR/L, MHA, LNHA is an Assistant Professor in the Bachelor of Health Science in Occupational Science and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Program within the Frances M. Maguire School of Nursing and Health Professions. Dr. Bindo earned his M.S. in Occupational Therapy and Master of Health Care Administration at the University of Scranton and his Occupational Therapy Doctorate at Chatham University. Dr. Bindo is currently licensed to practice occupational therapy in the state of Pennsylvania. He is also a New York State Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and is certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Prior to joining Gwynedd Mercy University, Dr. Bindo was an assistant professor of Occupational Therapy at Alvernia University, educating students in the topics of Occupational Therapy Process, Adult Rehabilitation, Geriatric Rehabilitation, Fieldwork Topics, and Kinesiology for the OT.
Dr. Bindo has practiced as an occupational therapist in the setting of in-patient rehabilitation, gaining experience on the spinal cord injury, neurorehabilitation, traumatic brain injury, and orthopedic units. Additionally, he has experience as both a long-term care occupational therapist and as a home health care occupational therapist. His management experience surrounds long-term care rehabilitation.
