Associate of Science Degree in Nursing with Weekend Option Programs - Enroll Now!
Gwynedd Mercy University's accelerated nursing program is designed for college graduates who majored in a field other than nursing to transition into a nursing career. The program builds on your previous education with a curriculum in nursing theory, and onsite clinical rotations. Gwynedd Mercy University students who pursue a second degree in nursing receive the same level of academic quality and the same amount of clinical preparation as those enrolled in traditional nursing school programs.
For working professionals who already hold a BA or BS in another field, the Associate of Science in Nursing Weekend Option makes it possible to transition into the field of nursing. Courses and clinicals are held from 8am to 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday for four semesters. The weekend program instills a deep knowledge of anatomy and patient care along with first-hand clinical experience. Upon completion, students receive an Associate of Science in Nursing Degree and are eligible to take the Registered Nurse Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN).
Note: Prerequisite courses required for entry are: Anatomy and Physiology I and II with labs, Microbiology with lab, Nutrition (taught by a licensed dietician), Developmental Psychology, General Psychology and Principles of Sociology. Strong grades in these prerequisite courses are required.
