Service Trips

Students provide a deworming medication to children in the Dominican Republic.

Students have the opportunity to participate in service trips each year during spring break, called Alternative Spring Break .

Through Mercy Works, students travel to five locations within the United States to serve those in need. Some activities that students participate in during service trips include:

  • visiting schools to help with educational programs
  • building houses through Habitat for Humanity
  • running a health fair for those who don't have access to health care

Nursing faculty and students also travel to the Dominican Republic each year to provide care to Haitian sugar workers.
