Current Position: Playground and Lunch Aide, St. Jude School
My job at St. Jude School is the best job ever, and I love getting paychecks!
A graduate of Central Bucks South High School, Cara began GMercyU’s Integrated Studies program in the fall of 2021 as a commuter student.
She attended classes and campus events, and enjoyed her regular meetings with her advisors and peer mentors. “My mentors impacted me, and I loved working with them,” Cara said.
While at GMercyU, Cara completed three internships, serving as a library aide for St. Jude School, a classroom assistant at Saint Genevieve School, and an office worker at Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School.
Cara also dedicated herself to multiple service roles. As a Community Educator for Integrate for Good, she led their Sleeping Mat Project each week on GMercyU’s campus. She and other students created mats for those in need from recycled materials and plastic bags. She impressed Integrate for Good so much that they nominated Cara for PECO’s Energy Force Ambassador Program, where she was trained to educate others on various ways to save money and energy.
I would recommend GMercyU to my friends because they will like the Integrated Studies program.
Today, as a GMercyU alum, Cara continues to make a difference in her community serving others. She is thriving as an aide at St. Jude School, where she works with students on the playground and at lunch. She also helps with dismissal.
“I love the kids, and I love helping the teachers,” she said.
