Voices of Gwynedd Celebrate America 250 with Tour

In celebration of America's 250th birthday, the Voices of Gwynedd explored the country's birthplace and GMercyU's backyard — Philadelphia! Past concert tours have taken the group around the United States and abroad, including France, Ireland, Italy, Canada, and Walt Disney World.
The world-renowned choir kicked off their summer tour by singing the national anthem at a Phillies game on Wednesday, June 3 and later performed at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul on Saturday, June 27. While in Philadelphia, the group explored some of the nation's most popular sites, including The Franklin Institute, the Chinese Lantern Festival, and the Art Museum.
In addition to touring Philadelphia, the group also traveled to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and performed at the National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes in Maryland.
Directed by Grammy-nominated Carol Evans, a seasoned soprano and assistant professor of music in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Professional Studies, the 100-member choir is comprised of full- and part-time students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of GMercyU.
Enriching the campus and the region, the Voices of Gwynedd provide on-campus concerts and events throughout the year. In addition, the ensemble has represented the University at a number of high profile regional events, and have traveled all over the world.
