GMercyU Hosts Nursing & Healthcare Career Fair
Yesterday, GMercyU hosted one of its larger flagship campus events for students and alumni, the Spring 2026 Nursing & Healthcare Career Fair. The fair was organized by the Frances M. Maguire College of Nursing and Health Professions and the Office of Career Development.
The event advances GMercyU’s commitment to on-campus employer engagement by creating organic networking opportunities for students and alumni, who met hiring managers and recruiters from more than 30 hospitals and healthcare systems across the tri-state (PA, NJ, DE).
More than 200 students and alumni were in attendance and were able to give their resumes directly to employers as they pursued their next internship or first professional job after graduation.
After the fair, many representatives participated in tours of the new, state-of-the-market Frances M. Maguire ’55 Healthcare Innovation Center, led directly by faculty, where the fair was held. They also had an opportunity to witness first-hand the new Compassionate Care Collaborative initiative.
“The job search process can be intimidating for many students, who often find they need to submit dozens of applications before getting one interview.” said Paul Whalen, M.A., GMercyU’s Director of Career Development, who spear-headed the event. “Being able to bring employers onto campus like this is the perfect opportunity for students to get a chance to meet and network with employers and even learn what they can do with their major. I think this really was a showcase of how GMercyU is committed to supporting the career goals and job attainment of our students and alumni, as well as building the healthcare workforce.”
