GMercyU Earns Highest NCLEX Pass Rate in Program History
Gwynedd Mercy University received its highest-ever NCLEX exam first-time pass rate in BSN program history this fall.
For more than 60 years, GMercyU has been a leader in preparing highly skilled nurses who are experts at providing compassionate care in our diverse society.
“At a time when Mercy nurses are needed more than ever, I am so incredibly proud of our students who will make a real and lasting difference in the communities where they live and work,” said Jane H. Tang, PhD, RN, NE-BC, Dean of GMercyU’s Frances M. Maguire School of Nursing & Health Professions.
The NCLEX exam is the nationwide examination for the licensing of nurses in the United States. GMercyU’s first-time pass rate for 2023 was 91.39%. GMercyU nursing students have the support of a professional nursing advisor, and benefit from NCLEX preparation strategies throughout their entire program. Their education also is deeply rooted in Mercy, which includes a focus on improving equity and access to high quality compassionate care in the Mercy tradition.
“GMercyU’s reputation for preparing nurse leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs is well known and this year’s results are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and their professors,” said GMercyU President Deanne H. D’Emilio, JD, . “We are incredibly proud of our recent graduates and thousands of other alumni who are providing compassionate care in the Mercy tradition here in the Commonwealth and around the world.”
To continue to meet the urgent need for nursing and other healthcare professionals, GMercyU will begin construction on the new Frances M. Maguire Healthcare Innovation Center this spring. This new 63,000-square-foot space will feature state-of-the-market technology and spaces to support interprofessional learning, a best practice in healthcare. Here, nursing students will work alongside students from other majors, including Social Work, Psychology, Computer Information Science, Respiratory Care, and more.
