The session will examine the powerful relationship between belonging and health, highlighting how social connection is a key social determinant of mental, physical, and emotional well-being Participants will examine the health impacts of loneliness and social isolation while exploring evidence-informed strategies to foster belonging across clinical and community settings as well as gain practical tools to help individuals, families and communities build meaningful connections that promote resilience, improve health outcomes, and support overall well-being.
Speaker:
Maria Warnick, PhD is board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and holds a PhD in public health as well as more than 30 years of experience in primary care, public health, higher education, and wellness leadership. She is currently the Director of Health Services at Bryn Mawr College. Her passion is creating practical evidenced based strategies that create environments where people feel connected, supported, and able to thrive in all environments.
