Stephanie Fratantaro, MS, NCC, LPC, CCTP

Prof. Stephanie Fratantaro joined the Gwynedd Mercy University community in 1999 and has served in a variety of roles as a staff member in the division of Student Services and as faculty in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Professional Studies.

Currently, Stephanie is a full-time Professor of Practice in the undergraduate Psychology program. Prof. Fratantaro also serves as the Advisor for the Counseling and Interpersonal Relations minor, the Coordinator of the 4+2 Early Entry Option to the M.S. In Counseling, and coordinator for psychology internships. Prof. Fratantaro is co-founder of the Pedagogy Book Club for faculty and staff and co-founder of the Griffins for Hope campus-wide suicide prevention initiative.

Additionally, Prof. Fratantaro teaches courses in the graduate Counseling program as adjunct faculty, serves on the Internal Advisory Board for The Jordan Center for Children of Trauma and Domestic Violence Education, serves the university as co-Advisor for Sigma Phi Sigma, the National Mercy Honor Society, and is the faculty mentor for the Cheerleading Team at GMercyU.

Prof. Fratantaro's research and practice interests include individual and community mental health, the promotion and practice of nonviolence (intra- and interpersonal violence), community-based and engaged learning, reflective and integrative learning practices, and global education.

Prof. Fratantaro holds a master's degree in counseling and human relations from Villanova University, is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania (LPC), a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).
