Bachelor of Science Degree in Preschool Education - Grades Pre K-4 Early Childhood Education Certification
In this hands-on program for aspiring K-4 teachers, students will gain teaching experience that begins during their freshman year. Through the Teacher Apprentice Program (TAP), students will work with experienced teachers in the field, observe best practices in Education, and hone their own professional skills. Academically, the PreK-4 Bachelor of Science in Education Degree provides students with a thorough curriculum including courses in child development, early childhood education, methods courses in Reading, Science, Social Studies, and Math, as well as five courses that cover all aspects of Special Education at these respective grade levels.
Through the Teacher Apprentice Program (TAP), students are assigned to a variety of schools every Wednesday. During the first semester of their senior year, students are assigned to Pre-Student Teaching and during their last semester, students spend 16 weeks, full time, in a classroom.
