A human services degree helps students turn their empathic abilities into concrete skills that will make a difference in the lives of others. Combining classes in psychology, sociology and social work, the human services program provides students with an immediately useful and practical degree. On top of learning from supportive and experienced faculty, students will gain real world experience with two semesters of internship experience. The Human Services program thoroughly prepares students for careers in varying fields of service, whether graduates choose to work in schools, hospitals or social service agency settings. Graduates will also be well prepared to enter graduate school in social work, community counseling or school counseling.
Both the Bachelor of Science in Human Services program and the Bachelor of Arts in Human Services program teach you the strategies and techniques of intervention and good management practices for intervention. The Bachelor of Science in Human Services program and the BA in Human Services program are designed to help you develop skills in planning, organizing, leading, assessing and evaluating. Internships are an integral part of the human services program.
