Gwynedd Mercy University has an innovative Master of Science in Nursing program delivered by our renowned Frances M. Maguire School of Nursing & Health Professions. Taught by highly respected faculty, these programs are designed to help the next generation of nursing leaders achieve their career goals while improving the health and well-being of all people.

Gwynedd Mercy University Frances M. Maguire School of Nursing & Health Professions educates the next great generation of advanced health care professionals – morally reflective health care leaders and scholars who strive to improve the health and well-being of all people, with sensitivity to cultural differences and issues of justice.

The Masters in Nursing program prepares professional nurses for advanced practice and leadership opportunities in the field of nursing and provides a foundation for future study at the doctoral level. Beyond the foundational curriculum, students sharpen their expertise in one of four areas. Clinical Nurse Specialists (Adult with Gerontology) learn how to deliver advanced nursing care in ambulatory, acute, home, rehabilitative, and long-term care settings. Students in the Nurse Practitioner (Primary Care) track will focus on diagnoses and the prescription of medical, therapeutic, and corrective treatments. There are two options, Adult Gerontology or Pediatric. Nurse Educators are prepared to assume faculty positions in collegiate nursing programs. While each track provides specialized knowledge, all recipients of the Master of Science in Nursing Degree learn how to take a leadership role in their respective area of advanced nursing. In addition, a Post-Masters certificate program is also available in primary care with specializations in Adult Gerontology or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
