Grace Scally
Sport Management 2024

Current Position: Business Development Manager, Elite Sports Factory
Story Posted: Winter 2023
Job Title Updated: Fall 2025
Grace Scally graduated from John W. Callahan Catholic Girls’ High School in downtown Philadelphia in June 2020. She was introduced to GMercyU from a friend, a Nursing major at GMercyU, who Grace describes as pivotal in her decision to enroll and play softball here.
On campus, Grace is a member of the Sport Business Association, Cancer Awareness Club, and a captain on the softball team. What she loves most about GMercyU is the environment.
“Everyone is so welcoming. Every room or building you walk into, a faculty or staff member always has a welcoming smile and greeting, especially in the Waldron Café. The two cooks who make college life a little easier are Chris and Sean. They will recognize you from a mile away and make sure you walk out full and with a smile,” Grace said.
Experience in Sport Management
“I have loved watching and playing multiple sports my entire life. I want to be happy and successful in my career and I know that if sports are included in my future, then I will be both happy and successful,” Grace said.
As Grace has progressed through the program, she's grown to appreciate the level of support offered here.
Professor Herman and Professor Silvesti are the two professors who I have learned the most from during my college experience alone. Each of them has helped me in so many different ways to make me the student and athlete I am today.
While Grace has not completed any internships thus far, she has been working out the details with Athletic Director Keith Mondillo and Assistant Athletic Director Dana Lindstrom on a future internship with the Athletics Department at GMercyU.
“I am super excited and appreciative of these role models,” Grace said.
Why GMercyU?
“I would recommend coming to GMercyU because of the size of the school. The campus is small, but it is growing with new facilities and updated facilities. The relationships you build in the classroom make learning a lot easier, because the professors know who you are as a person and a student, and they are willing to help,” Grace said.
Looking to the Future
After graduating from GMercyU, Grace hopes to continue her job at Ambler Sports Academy, where she is currently a coach, and hopefully grow into higher management positions.
Grace also hopes to continue on the track of becoming an Athletic Director for a college and wishes to continue her coaching career.
“I also would love to attend grad school when the time comes to get my master’s and live the life I have been dreaming of. My dream job is to work in professional sports. As a die-hard Philadelphia sports fan, I would love to work for the Philadelphia Phillies or Eagles in my future,” Grace said.
