Marilyn Pendelton, who is graduating from Gwynedd Mercy University’s EdD program, was selected as the 2021 Graduate Commencement Speaker. She will be graduating with her Doctorate of Education with a concentration in Executive Leadership this May.
Marilyn is a native and resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1981, she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania. And then earned her professional certificate as a Legal Nurse Consultant in 2002 from Manor College. In 2003, she returned to Widener University for graduate studies, earning her professional certification as a school nurse and Masters in Educational Psychology. In 2008, Marilyn became a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist® from The Grief Recovery Institute®, in Sherman Oaks, California.
Additionally, Marilyn is the founder and CEO of Your Voice Heard, LLC which she established in 2009. Your Voice Heard’s vision is to heal, inspire, educate and empower individuals, leaders and communities, helping them to be resilient and fully engaged in every aspect of life through the core values of Wellness, Respect, Integrity, Connecting with Others, Excellence, and Transformation. The organization offers grief support outreach utilizing The Grief Recovery Method® to promote emotional completeness and engage local, national, and global partnerships to heal, inspire, educate and empower diverse communities and organizations.
Her personal life journey and faith motivates her to galvanize partnerships, positively impact the lives of others, and inspire others to move beyond their losses and empower them to have their voice heard. Marilyn is a true example of a Distinctive Mercy Graduate.
