GMercyU Hosts MercyTalk Examining 'Post-Racial' America

Join Gwynedd Mercy University's MercyTalk presentation of "Civil Discourse: Examining "Post-Racial" America on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in University Hall W105. Featuring speakers from Villanova University and Temple University, the MercyTalk will open a community dialog and explore the feasibility of a post-racial society, as well as the role that civil discourse will play in achieving that ideal.

Dr. Patrick McGrain, who is an associate professor and program coordinator of criminal justice at GMercyU, is featured on WHYY.org for his essay regarding this week's MercyTalk. In the article, he addresses the current absence of "post-racial" America and the importance of civil discourse. Check out his essay entitled "The myth of post-racial America."

Launched in 2016, MercyTalks is a series of forums rooted in the topics offered through Gwynedd Mercy University's new signature courses. These courses are designed to reflect the critical concerns embraced by the Sisters of Mercy: Earth, Immigration, Nonviolence, Racism, and Women.
