Dr. Pamela Lynn Named Prosseor Emerita

Pamela Lynn, EdD ’17, MSN ’01, RN was named Professor Emerita at the 2026 Commencement Ceremony.
Dr. Lynn has had a remarkable career defined by her deep commitment to Gwynedd Mercy University and the nursing profession. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Bloomsburg University (1983); her Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) from GMercyU (2001); and her EdD in Leadership in Higher Education (2017), also from GMercyU. She joined the University as an adjunct faculty member in 2000 and became a full-time faculty member in 2007, later earning the rank of Associate Professor.
Throughout her time at GMercyU, she has taught a wide range of courses across the BSN program and General Education, consistently bringing a thoughtful, student-centered approach to her teaching. She is widely known for creating a learning environment where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired to grow into confident, compassionate nursing professionals.
Her impact extends far beyond the classroom. Dr. Lynn has been a trusted mentor and role model to both students and faculty, generously sharing her expertise and encouraging others in their professional growth. Many of her students and colleagues credit her guidance as instrumental to their success in clinical practice, education, and leadership roles. She also has contributed meaningfully to the University through her involvement in committees, accreditation work, and recruitment efforts, helping to strengthen programs and advance the University’s mission.
Dr. Lynn is a highly respected and influential scholar. She is the co-author of Fundamentals of Nursing: The Art and Science of Person-Centered Care and the sole author of Taylor’s Clinical Nursing Skills, two widely used and internationally recognized texts that have shaped nursing education for countless learners around the world. Her scholarship was honored with the 2023 American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year Award, and she received the Gwynedd Mercy University Distinguished Faculty Award for Scholarship in 2025.
Dr. Lynn truly embodies the Mercy values through her dedication to teaching, scholarship, and service. Her legacy lives on in the many students and colleagues she has influenced and in the generations of nurses she has helped prepare for meaningful and impactful careers.
