Senior Griffins Recognized at End-of-Year Banquet
Each spring, GMercyU’s graduating student-athletes are recognized at the Senior Awards Banquet for their success both on and off the field/court. On May 12, coaches, family, and friends gathered to celebrate the athletic and academic achievements of this year’s graduates. Several awards were also announced, including the Donahue-Elliot Senior Scholar Award, the Male Senior Student-Athlete Award, and the Female Senior Student-Athlete Award.
The Donahue-Elliot Senior Scholar Award is presented to a graduating business student with the highest cumulative grade point average (GPA). This year’s recipient is Alexis Eagan, member of the Women’s Basketball program, who is ending her collegiate career with a cumulative 3.95 GPA.
Members of the Athletics Department nominate and vote for the Male and Female Senior Student-Athlete Award. This year’s male recipient is Cooper Root, member of the Baseball program, and Laura Filchner, member of the Field Hockey program. Both student-athletes have garnered multiple honors, both academic and athletic, from the Atlantic East Conference, and have performed exceptionally well in the classroom.
Congratulations to the three award winners and to all graduating student-athletes!
