Summer and Fall 2021 Campus Updates

A Message from President Deanne H. D'Emilio, JD

Dear Students,

I hope you and your loved ones have been healthy and well. You have been in my thoughts during this difficult year as we've confronted the harsh reality of the COVID-19 pandemic and the many other challenges facing our nation and world.

I have some happy news to share with you about our plans for the fall, as well as information on our summer sessions.

Fall 2021

Based on the best information available to us at this time, we are planning to welcome students back to campus for the fall 2021 semester. We are so looking forward to returning to campus and resuming the traditions that we all have been missing - provided it is safe to do so! Online programs will continue as scheduled.

At this time, we also anticipate being able to offer our regular residential housing options with two students per bedroom, and return to full athletic and student activities schedules, with appropriate safety protocols in place. We will share more details on what this will look like in the coming weeks and months.

The safety of our campus community will always be Gwynedd Mercy University's top priority, so please be sure to continue to check the University website for updates on our response to the pandemic. If conditions change and we have to adjust our plans based on new information and guidance, we will share updates on those changes via portal and website announcements.

Summer 2021

Based on the best available information on preventing the potential spread of the virus while the availability of the vaccine is expanded to more populations, we will continue to operate in a hybrid format for our summer sessions. Online programs will continue as scheduled.

I appreciate your patience and understanding as we have instituted policies and procedures over the past year based on the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and local and state health agencies. I am so proud of how our community has responded to such a difficult and uncertain time. Your commitment to keeping each other safe by following the University's safety protocols have helped us maintain very low on-campus infection and quarantine rates.

Thank you for your commitment to and involvement in Gwynedd Mercy University during this very difficult year. I know we all look forward to returning to our more familiar routines soon.

On behalf of the University's faculty, staff, and administration, please accept my warmest wishes for a happy and healthy year.

Warmest regards,

Deanne D'Emilio, JD
