GMercyU's Case Study Team Places Second in Annual IACBE Competition

Four GMercyU students competed in the annual International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) Virtual Case Study Competition and brought home a second-place win.

Gwynedd Mercy University competed with nine other colleges and universities to develop a Go-To-Market strategy for MUNEVO, a German start-up company that makes control mechanisms for wheelchairs to support people with disabilities. Their product, MUNEVO DRIVE, helps people control their wheelchair using smart glass technology.

GMercyU's team included Alyson Sharkey, a senior Accounting major; Stephanie Webb, a senior Accounting major; Andrew Boland, a junior Finance major; and Austin Weathers, a sophomore Management major. Students had to research the potential U.S. market for this German company, including preparing a 10-minute video of their recommendations along with a two-page executive summary.

"The case study competition gives students the opportunity to work with real companies solving real problems," said Ron Bruce, MBA, an Associate Professor of GMercyU's School of Business and Education. "Students get to expand their skills and capabilities beyond what a classroom can do for them."

Gwynedd Mercy University has received specialized accreditation for its business programs through the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE).
