Commonwealth of PA Awards Multiple RACP Grants to GMercyU
Throughout the Mercy in Motion Comprehensive Campaign, GMercyU received several grants from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects. See highlights below.
Gwynedd Mercy University was awarded a $2 million RACP grant for phase one of The Triplex Project which included renovations of the interior of Loyola Hall, GMercyU’s residence hall for first-year students, with energy-efficient lighting, new air conditioning, new flooring, finishes, as well as new accessible bathroom facilities in existing living spaces at the Triplex.

GMercyU was awarded a second RACP grant of $1.25 million for exterior site work for the new Frances M. Maguire ’55 Healthcare Innovation Center, including paving, curbing, site utilities, stormwater management, and landscaping.
In 2024, GMercyU received a $1 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant to renovate the University’s Griffin Complex and Waldron Center to enhance enrichment programs that improve the student experience and expand community outreach.
“We are excited that this grant will provide a vibrant student center that offers inclusive community programming for GMercyU students, school-aged students in the region and the community at large, providing access to address the health and wellness needs of today and in the future,” said Deanne H. D’Emilio, JD, President of Gwynedd Mercy University, in 2024.
