Pathway for Computer Information Science Master Degrees

Gwynedd Mercy University has formed a partnership with La Salle University, offering two pathways for our Computer Information Science students to earn a master degree in less time, with 9 credits already completed.


4+1 BS CIS / MS Cybersecurity

This opportunity enables qualified GMercyU CIS students to enroll in La Salle's MS Cybersecurity degree with advanced standing. The opportunity is open to students who successfully complete their GMercyU coursework with an overall GPA of 3.0 and a GPA in the CIS major of 3.0. Students must meet all graduation requirements for GMercyU, as well as La Salle's admission requirements. Students must also have taken the following classes and received a B or higher, which will count toward the MS degree.

  • CIS 230 Intro to Networking
  • CIS 340 Digital Forensics
  • CIS 341 IT Security

4+1 BS CIS / MS Computer Information Science

This opportunity enables qualified GMercyU CIS students to enroll in La Salle's MS Computer Information Science degree with advanced standing. The opportunity is open to students who successfully complete their GMercyU coursework with an overall GPA of 3.0 and a GPA in the CIS major of 3.0. Students must meet all graduation requirements for GMercyU, as well as La Salle's admission requirements. Students must also have taken three of the following classes and received a B or higher; three of these four courses will count toward the MS degree.

  • CIS 420 Mobile Development
  • CIS 304 Event Programming
  • CIS 215 Intro to Relational Databases
  • MTH 261 Programming for Math

The application fee for applying to either the MS Cybersecurity or MS Computer Information Science degrees will be waived for qualified GMercyU CIS students.
