When it comes to paying for college, there are several options that may be available to you, including grants, federal aid, and GMercyU scholarships. In order for the Gwynedd Mercy University Financial Aid Office to prepare and process your comprehensive financial aid award, you will need to complete and submit various forms and documents.

All forms and documents can be submitted to our Financial Aid Office via scan/email, fax or mail:

Financial Aid Applications

FAFSA – All students seeking federal financial aid need to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  The new Prior Prior Year FAFSA form will be available in October at fafsa.gov.  Your completed FAFSA should be submitted by December 1st for priority consideration for select scholarships.  Othwerwise, the priority deadline for new students is January 15th.  To complete the FAFSA, go to fafsa.gov.  Our school code is #003270.  For step-by-step instructions, visit the Getting Started page.

In addition to completing the FAFSA, you will need to complete one of the Gwynedd Mercy University financial aid applications listed below.

2018-2019 Returning Student Aid Application (PDF) — If you are a returning undergraduate student who has previously attended GMercyU and will be attending during the 2018-2019 academic year, you will need to submit this application.

2018-2019 Graduate Student Application (PDF)— If you are a graduate student who will be attending GMercyU during the 2018-2019 academic year, you will need to submit this application. 

Verification Documents

If you are selected for verification under any of the scenarios below, please fill out and submit the appropriate worksheet to GMercyU as quickly as possible.  We cannot complete your financial aid package without this documentation.

2018-2019 Dependent Verification Worksheet (PDF)— If you are a dependent student, your FAFSA may be randomly selected to undergo the federal verification process to confirm the information you and your parents reported. If you are selected for verification, please fill out and submit this worksheet to GMercyU.

2018-2019 Independent Verification Worksheet (PDF)— If you are an independent student, your FAFSA may be randomly selected to undergo the federal verification process to confirm the information you reported. .  If you are selected for verification, please fill out and submit this worksheet to GMercyU as quickly as possible.

2018-2019 Parent Non-Tax Filing Form (PDF)  — If you are a dependent student, your FAFSA may be randomly selected to undergo the federal verification process to confirm the information you and your parents reported. If your parents will not file 2016 taxes and you are selected for verification, you will need to fill out and submit this form to GMercyU. *2018-2019 forms coming soon.*

2018-2019 Student Non-Tax Filing Form (PDF) — If you are a dependent or independent student who was randomly selected to undergo the federal verification process and will not file 2016 taxes (or whose spouse will not file 2016 taxes), you will need to fill out and submit this form to GMercyU. *2018-2019 forms coming soon.*

2018-2019 Parental Income Verification Form (PDF) - If you are a parent of a dependent student, the Financial Aid Office may request this form to verify your 2016 income and expenses in order to accurately assess your eligibility for financial assistance.  This form does not need to be submitted to the Financial Aid Office unless it is specifically requested.  ​

2018-2019 Student Income Verification Form (PDF) - If you are a dependent or independent student, the Financial Aid Office may request this form to verify your 2016 income and expenses in order to accurately assess your eligibility for financial assistance.  This form does not need to be submitted to the Financial Aid Office unless it is specifically requested.

2018-2019 IRS Tax Return Transcript Instructions (PDF) — Required for student, parent or spouse if selected for a process called Verification.

2018-2019 FERPA Release Form (PDF)— You will need to submit this form to GMercyU if you would like to allow the Financial Aid and Billing Offices to speak to third parties (i.e. mother, father, spouse, etc.) regarding financial information.

2018-2019 Independent Reduced Income Form (PDF) - Gwynedd Mercy University provides special consideration for independent applicants experiencing a reduction in income due to an extenuating circumstance. Students MUST attach a separate explanation detailing all the reasons your family’s 2018 income will be reduced and complete the remainder of this form.  Additional supporting documentation may be requested by the Financial Aid Office.

2018-2019 Dependent Reduced Income Form (PDF) - Gwynedd Mercy University provides special consideration for dependent students whose families are experiencing a reduction in income due to an extenuating circumstance. Students MUST attach a separate explanation detailing all the reasons your family’s 2018 income will be reduced and complete the remainder of this form.  Additional supporting documentation may be requested by the Financial Aid Office.  ​

Private Education Loan Applicant Self-Certification (PDF) - If you are applying for a private education loan, you will need to submit this form.
