Affordability and Transparency (PA Act 69)
What is PA Act 69 of 2024?
PA Act 69, passed in 2024, requires Pennsylvania higher education institutions to provide clear, accessible, and student-facing information about tuition, fees, financial aid, and estimated costs. The goal is to help students and families make informed decisions about college affordability and plan for future expenses.
Act Requirements
TBD
TBD
Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs) must provide financial aid exit counseling to students at the end of their final academic term, unless a student elects not to participate. Federal Student Aid (FSA) Federal Loan Exit Counseling does not supplant this requirement. Counseling may be in-person or online, and IHEs may partner with the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency or a similar entity.
During students' final semester, Gwynedd Mercy University shares the following amounts with each student:
| Federal Student Summary 10-Year Estimated Repayment |
Non-Federal Student Summary 10-Year Estimated Repayment |
| Principal Loan Amount Total | Principal Loan Amount Total |
| Federal Interest Rate | Federal Interest Rate |
| Estimated Monthly Payment Total | Estimated Monthly Payment Total |
| Total Estimated Payoff Amount | Total Estimated Payoff Amount |
Students must use the online presentation at YouCanDealWithIt.com/EC to learn their student loan rights and responsibilities after leaving school. Exit counseling takes about 15 minutes.
NOTE: Per Act 69, all students must complete state-mandated exit counseling in Pennsylvania. Even if you did not borrow any money for school, this counseling is still required.
