Leigh Schultz, MS, OTR/L, is an adjunct instructor and Distinctive Mercy Graduate of Gwynedd Mercy University's Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy programs. She earned her Bachelor of Health Science in Occupational Science in 2020 and her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2021.
As a student at Gwynedd Mercy University, Leigh was actively involved in the Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA), serving as Occupational Science Representative (2019–2020) and President (2020–2021). She also served as President of the Epsilon Upsilon chapter of Pi Theta Epsilon, the occupational therapy honor society. In addition, Leigh held a national student leadership position as Occupational Therapy Chairperson with the American Occupational Therapy Association's Assembly of Student Delegates (AOTA-ASD) from 2021 to 2023.
Since graduating in 2021, Leigh has worked as a school-based pediatric occupational therapist, supporting elementary and middle school aged students by facilitating and enabling occupational performance for students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), cerebral palsy (CP), down syndrome (DS), intellectual and developmental disorders, learning disorders, and more.
In 2024, she co-authored the article “Understanding Accreditation Requirement Trends of Teaching Occupation in Occupational Therapy Curricula” with Dr. Thomas Mernar, PhD, OTR/L. The article was published in the American Journal of Occupational Therapy (AJOT).
Leigh returned to Gwynedd Mercy University in 2023 as an adjunct instructor, teaching in the occupational science program in the course OSC 100: Introduction to Occupation and Occupational Science.
