Keiss Library Hosts First Make-and-Take Craft Program

By: Sarah Meade, Reference Librarian

Keiss Library & Learning Commons hosted an open-air Arts & Crafts workshop for GMercyU students, faculty and staff on October 13. Attendees were led in an acrylic pour painting tutorial by Reference Librarian Sarah Meade and Circulation Assistant Janice Spillane, while others learned to fold origami paper cranes.

Attendees rolled up their sleeves, donned gloves and mixed paints while President of Gwynedd Mercy University Deanne H. D'Emilio, JD and Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Mary Van Brunt, PhD provided moral support and admired their creations. By the end of the afternoon, everyone had learned some new skills and produced beautiful works of art.

This is just the first of many creative and fun events that Keiss Library plans to host for the GMercyU community. The subject of the next program will be announced shortly.
