Inaugural Griffin Color Run a Success

Gwynedd Mercy University's Student Activities Committee hosted the first Griffin Color Run on campus on Sunday, Oct. 11.

The 120 runners and volunteers raised about $1,300 for The Trevor Project, which is a nonprofit organization that works to prevent suicides among LGBTQ youth.

"The Griffin Color Run was an amazing event and it was an honor to raise money for The Trevor Project. It was a great day for a good cause," said Albert Rementer, the event's organizer and a junior in the University's 4+1 MBA program.

The course, which ended up being just under the distance of a true 5K, had the participants run two loops around the beautiful, tree-lined campus. The course started by Alexandria Hall, looped around the back of campus, down past Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School and up past the stadium for two laps totaling just over 3 miles.
