GMercyU Students Attend SEI Future Leaders in Finance

GMercyU Finance students John Wagner ‘23 and Dylan Bach ’25 attended the Strategic Equity Finance (SEI) Future Leaders in Finance event in Oaks, Pa. this month.

The SEI Future Leaders in Finance event was designed to inform college students on the different positions within portfolio creation for medium-sized customers. Student attendees were also encouraged to apply for internships.

John and Dylan learned of the event from Alan Harper, PhD., Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of GMercyU’s Finance program. Both students used the event as a networking opportunity to connect with experience managers in Finance. They learned about the various sectors of SEI and the different services they offer. Additionally, they learned the components needed to create an investment portfolio and the different methods needed to achieve growth.

“The SEI Finance event allowed me to understand in-depth the jobs and responsibilities of creating a portfolio for corporations and not-for-profit companies. It is important for others to take advantage of networking opportunities and conferences to broaden one’s knowledge of their respective field,” shared Dylan, Finance student.

“I really enjoyed the opportunity to learn about all the various services SEI provides to the financial services marketplace and learn from industry professional about their years of experience,” said John, senior Finance student.
