Voices of Gwynedd Meet Stephen Schwartz

The Voices of Gwynedd had the opportunity to meet and chat with world-famous composer Stephen Schwartz via Zoom during their music retreat on Sunday, February 26.

Schwartz is the famous composer of popular musical like Godspell, Pippin, and Wicked. Additionally, he has contributed lyrics to successful films such as Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Prince of Egypt, and Enchanted.

He also shared with the VOG some news regarding his new collaboration with Kristin Chenoweth about the Queen of Versailles.

“At our Spring Music Retreat, The Voices of Gwynedd had the amazing opportunity to interact with internationally known Broadway composer, Stephen Schwartz. He was very generous and kind with his time and most fascinating as he described the process for producing a Broadway musical. It is very rare that any university students and musicians could experience such access and personal interaction with the award-winning Stephen Schwartz. We look forward to utilizing some of his insights in our upcoming production of Godspell on April 19 and 21!” said Carol Evans, Assistant Professor of Music and Director of the Voices of Gwynedd.
