Progress on the Future Frances M. Maguire Healthcare Innovation Center

In May 2022, Gwynedd Mercy University announced the largest gift in its history — a transformational $10 million gift from the Maguire Foundation to build the future Frances M. Maguire Healthcare Innovation Center.

The 63,000 square foot building will be GMercyU’s largest academic building on campus, conveniently located adjacent to Maguire Hall and Valie Genuardi Hall.

The building will feature flexible, state-of-the-art classroom spaces, study spaces for students, and immersive simulation and skills labs where students can practice clinical skills and address complex patient scenarios.

The building also offers multiple spaces for inter-professional collaboration among programs. Nursing students will be able to collaborate with Public Health, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Respiratory Care, Radiation Therapy, Radiologic Technology, Psychology and other students to provide optimized patient care, a best-practice in healthcare.

Future campus events can be hosted in the building’s airy and spacious atrium or outdoor terrace, equipped with outdoor seating. And, students will be able to grab a bite to eat between classes at the micro-market.

GMercyU will break ground on the building this fall.
