Nursing Professor to Take Part in Live Play

Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Nursing & Allied Health Students and Professor of Nursing Tricia O’Hara, RN, PhD is taking part in a live play, titled “The Nurse Antigone”. The event is sponsored by The National Student Nurse Association.

The play will shed light on the the unique challenges faced by nurses and aims to generate compassion, awareness, connection, and much-needed healing, while celebrating and advocating for nurses at this critical juncture in the history of their profession.

Professor O’Hara was chosen to participate in the live, dramatic reading of Sophocles’ Antigone. She will be featured alongside actors and frontline nurses to present the unique challenges that nurses face.

“Interventions to address the mental health issues facing nurses, along with advocacy for more supportive work environments is necessary. I see “The Nurse Antigone” as a beginning step and I am truly HONORED to be part of this wonderful initiative,” said Dr. O’Hara.

The event will take place via Zoom on Wednesday, September 21 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
