Morgan Buterbaugh Named Student Speaker for Graduate Commencement Ceremony

Morgan Elizabeth Buterbaugh, who is graduating with her Master of Science in Education with a Secondary Certification in English, was selected as the 2022 Graduate Commencement Speaker.

Morgan ButerbaughMorgan earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Penn State University in 2017 and has since moved home to Lancaster, Pa. to work as a Special Education Teacher for emotional support at Lancaster-Lebanon IU13.

During her undergraduate career, Morgan served as a defensive specialist for the Women's Volleyball team. At Penn State Berks, she was an NCAA statistical chamption and was awarded Defensive Player of the Year. When she transferred to Penn State's Main Campus, Morgan played two years of club volleyball and served as the team's Vice President and Fundraising Chair.

Morgan is an active volunteer for the American Heart Assosication and serves on the planning committee for the Heart Ball within the Lancaster Chapter, a fundraising campaign event for the organization. Additionally, Morgan has been involved with Aaron's Acres, a nonprofit recreational camp for children with disabilities. For the past five years, Morgan has served as a camp counselor and group leader for the organization.

In her spare time, Morgan enjoys staying active and considers herself a fitness enthusiast. Her goal is to travel to all 50 states by the age of 30. So far, she's made it to 30 states and plans to add three more this summer. Morgan also enjoys playing golf and fly fishing.
