GMercyU Hosts Annual Take Back the Night
On Thursday, April 11, GMercyU, with Title IX Coordinator Tia Brown, hosted its annual Take Back the Night event. Attendees had the opportunity to gather, hear the stories of anonymous survivors of domestic and sexual violence, and words of encouragement for those impacted by it. This year, GMercyU welcomed keynote speaker Gigi Kilroe, survivor and activist. She shared her journey of surviving domestic and sexual violence and healing.
“I had the honor of being the Keynote Speaker for Gwynedd Mercy University’s Take Back the Night. Tia Brown was truly wonderful to work with. She and all of the faculty that I met made me feel very welcomed and comfortable,” shared Gigi. “I have spoken at several colleges and universities for Take Back the Night, but never one with the amazing student turnout as this one. It was such an honor to part of this event… and to see the dedicated individuals who are doing everything they can to fight against sexual assault on the college campus.”
