Meredith Hoch-Oescher, EdD is the current Dean of Student Success for Gwynedd Mercy University, overseeing the functions of the Student Success Center and the First-Year Experience Program. She holds a BA in Literature from East Stroudsburg University, an MA in Literature from The College of New Jersey, and an Ed.D. from Immaculata University.
Dr. Hoch-Oescher's research focused on success factors of first-generation students in higher education. She has worked in the field of academic support for over twenty years, promoting innovations in student tutoring and academic advising. She is dedicated to providing students with the skills and support structures they may need so they may persist to graduation.
Dr. Hoch-Oescher continues to teach, and much of her work in the classroom focuses on first-year student success. Through her work in both community colleges and a faith-based institution, she has seen students overcome great barriers in their quest for knowledge, and she strives to assist them in doing so.
