Meet GMercyU's Res Life Staff

Bryan Dunphy-Culp
Director of Housing and Residence Life

Bryan (just call them BDC), arrived on campus in July 2015 after serving six years as the Assistant Director of Residence Life at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ).  Prior to TCNJ, Bryan worked at Merrimack College in North Andover, MA and Stonehill College in Easton, MA.  Bryan is overly obsessed with sports, particularly any that have to involve teams from the city of Boston and New England, where they are originally from. They also enjoy a good sandwich any time of day whether it’s called a sub, hoagie, or grinder.

Bryan received their B.A. in Communications from Curry College in Milton, MA in 1999 and an M.A. in Higher Education Administration from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, MA in 2000.  Aside from sports, Bryan spends as much free time with their wife Alicia, kids Molly and Brendan, and Fenway the Golden Retriever who will make occasional visits to campus to get free pets from all the students.

Michelle M. Murray
Associate Director for Residence Life
Head Cheerleading Coach

Michelle began at GMercyU in July 2010 as the Residence Director for Alexandria Hall. Michelle was then promoted to Associate Director for Residence Life in December 2015. In addition, Michelle has been the Head Coach for the GMercyU Cheerleading Team since September 2016. Michelle has been fortunate enough to lead six Alternative Spring Break service trips as well as two Pilgrimages to Dublin Ireland for the Young Mercy Leaders Conferences in 2016 and 2018.

Prior to her arrival at GMercyU, Michelle worked at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC and Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY. Michelle graduated from Cabrini University in 2005 where she double majored in Studio Art and Graphic Design. In her free time, Michelle likes reading, going on adventures to Revolutionary War sites, and hanging with Mr. Cooper - her dog. She considers Leslie Knope her spirit animal.

Zeke Montgomery
Residence Director - Alexandria Hall

Zeke has been a Residence Director at GMercyU since December 2015. Zeke began his tenure overseeing Loyola, St. Brigid, and Siena Halls, which are commonly referred to as The Triplex.  Since June 2017, Zeke has been the Residence Director of Alexandria Hall. Prior to working at GMercyU, Zeke was a summer Residence Director at Steven’s Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ.  Zeke is an active member in the National Association for College and University Residence Halls (NACURH) on both the regional and national level and also serves as the Advisor of GMercyU's Residence Hall Association (RHA).  Zeke has an affinity for gas station coffee (we question it too) and photography.

Zeke received their B.A. in History from Kutztown University in 2015 and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration with a concentration in Global and International Education from Drexel University.

Lisa Marie Turtle
Residence Director - Triplex

Lisa Marie started in June 2018 as the Residence Director for Triplex (Loyola, Siena, and St. Brigid Halls). Prior to joining the GMercyU family, she graduated from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania (KU) with a B.S. in Psychology in 2016 and a M.Ed. in Student Affairs in Higher Education in 2018. During her undergraduate career at KU, Lisa Marie was actively involved in residence life and held multiple leadership positions. She continued her journey in higher education, while pursuing her master's degree, as a Graduate Hall Director at Cedar Crest College. Now at GMercyU, her office in Loyola Hall is stocked with gadgets, coloring books, and candy in case students (or staff) ever need a break.

Terri Schwabenland
Administrative Assistant for Residence Life

Terri has been a member of the Residence Life team since October 2016. Previous to coming to GMercyU, Terri worked as a Medical Underwriter and Pharmaceutical Market Researcher while raising her two children with her husband, Tom.   Terri is an alumna as they received their degree when the University was named Gwynedd-Mercy College and only one residence hall existed (don’t tell Terri this, but that’s what we call the dark ages). Terri is thrilled to be back on campus and thoroughly enjoys residents stopping by to say hello!

Gwynedd Mercy University Residence Hall Linens Program

Keep in mind, the beds found in college and university residence halls are longer than the twin beds found in most homes. You can find everything for your college checklist, including specially-sized sheets, mattress pads and comforters, through Residence Hall Linens. Plus, GMercyU's RHA program receives a portion of the proceeds.
