Athletes prepare for their first tennis lesson of the 2015 Touch of Tennis program

Gwynedd Mercy University tennis coach Jim Holt celebrated 15 years of free tennis lessons for special-needs athletes this summer. The Touch of Tennis program provides tennis instruction and tennis-related games to any individual with any special need on Wednesday nights during the summer months. GMercyU tennis athletes, whose teams have won the conference championship 8 of the last 9 seasons, volunteer their time and skill to help the athletes learn the basics of the sport. Donations of money, equipment and skill are always welcome.

The Touch of Tennis program is in the final stages of creating a sister program for students in Collier County in southwest Florida. Jim Holt Sr., a regular fixture and an integral part of the Griffins' success, is leading the charge.
