GMercyU's Respiratory Care Program Receives CoARC's Distinguished RRT Credentialing Success Award

Gwynedd Mercy University’s Respiratory Care Program was presented with the Distinguished Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credentialing Success Award by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). The University is amongst a small group of programs to receive this award, which is given to programs that achieve a 90% pass rate on the RRT exam.

Respiratory Care, Randy SollyPrograms must meet several other requirements to receive this award, including three or more years of outcomes data, hold accreditation without a progress report, have documentation of a 90% success rate on the RRT exam, and meet the CoARC standards for TMC scores and retention.
This year marks the seventh consecutive year the Respiratory Care Program has been recognized with this honor by CoARC.

“Our continued success is directly related to the Program faculty, the support of the University, and the students themselves,” GMercyU’s Respiratory Care Program Coordinator Randy Solly, MS, RRT, RPFT said. “The faculty brings a wealth of knowledge to the classroom and can relate life applications to the subject matter they teach, bridging the gap between the classroom and the clinical setting. We are thankful for the support of the University which provides the resources necessary to succeed. And finally, our students’ drive and determination are the roots of the program’s success.”

The Distinguished RRT Credentialing Success Award is awarded as part of the CoARC’s continuous effort to demonstrate the value of the RRT credential as a professional achievement. It serves as a measure of a respiratory care’s success in inspiring students to achieve their highest educational and professional goals.

Congratulations to our Respiratory Care students, graduates, faculty, and staff for this achievement!
