GMercyU Partners With Handshake

Gwynedd Mercy University's Career Development Center recently launched a new partnership with Handshake, a jobs and internship database.

Handshake has more than 250,000 employers, which will enable students and alumni to be exposed to internships and jobs from all around the region and country. Users are able to search for jobs or internships based on interests, majors and skills and keep track of application deadlines by "favoriting" positions.

In addition to the jobs and internship database, students and alumni can also upload their resumes and other related documents, create a profile, and connect with GMercyU's Career Development Center by scheduling appointments and registering for upcoming events.

"Handshake is the top career platform out there. Students and alumni will enjoy using it as it is somewhat similar to using Netflix, LinkedIn, Facebook and other social media," Director of Career Development Nick Schaefer said.

GMercyU students are automatically signed up at no cost. You can access Handshake but logging in with your GMercyU email. GMercyU alumni also have access at no cost by signing up with their personal email. The Career Development Center will quickly approve the request.

"Handshake will assist students and alumni in not just getting any job, but the job they want," Schaefer said.
