GMercyU President Deanne H. D’Emilio Wins Prestigious Chief Executive Leadership Award

Gwynedd Mercy University is proud to announce that President Deanne H. D'Emilio has been awarded the Chief Executive Leadership Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). This prestigious award recognizes a District II member institution's highest-ranking officer for exceptional efforts in promoting the understanding and support of education.

“President D’Emilio’s background and experience in higher education combined with her bold and collaborative leadership, have been instrumental in driving our university’s success,” said Keith Richardson, Vice President of University Advancement. “This recognition is well deserved as Deanne’s efforts continue to drive the university toward its goal of becoming the Catholic university leader in professional and healthcare education.”

Under D’Emilio’s leadership, GMercyU has embarked on several improvements to existing campus facilities, including the addition of a loop road and more pedestrian walkways, new classroom technologies, and extensive renovations to a residence hall as well as the baseball and softball fields. As the university approaches its 75th anniversary this fall, it remains focused on providing a mission-centered education supported by continued enhancements to campus facilities, classroom technologies and new program developments.

“Since beginning my tenure at Gwynedd Mercy University in 2017, it’s been my mission to encourage innovation and transformation in a way that helps us meet the next great need for our students and for the communities where they will live and work,” President D’Emilio stated. “It’s an honor to be recognized for CASE’s Chief Executive Leadership Award.”
