Voices of Gwynedd Return to the Stage for Annual Carol Nights

The Voices of Gwynedd returned to the stage for one of Gwynedd Mercy University's most treasured traditions - its annual Carol Nights.

The world-renowned choir performed three sold-out shows to kick off the holiday season. This year's concert theme was entitled "Rejoice! The Song Heard Around the World" and featured songs from the West Indies, Czech Republic, Catalonia, and many others.

"In late August 2021, we held our first rehearsal back on campus and we named it 'The Voices of Gwynedd Homecoming.' After two long years of singing alone in our living rooms, kitchens & bedrooms, we finally could sing together in the same room at the same time. It was truly a 'homecoming' to our beautiful campus, to our Voices of Gwynedd family, and to the miracle of music-making," Director of the Voices of Gwynedd Carol Evans said.

Attendance was free but all attendees had to book spots in advance and show proof of vaccination at the door. Following the concert, there was a live Nativity scene for guests to enjoy.

"At that first moment when the Voices sang 'together,' we experienced the feeling of unity, of belonging and connection that we had been missing for the past two years," Carol said. "It was because of this great joy and the glory of Christmas that we share with you in this concert entitled, "REJOICE!"
