Wissahickon Senior Awarded Four-Year, Full-Tuition Scholarship to GMercyU

Today, Wissahickon High School senior Toni Robinson from Ambler, Pa., received The Wissahickon Gwynedd Mercy University Opportunity Scholarship.

The scholarship program provides one deserving student a four-year, full-tuition scholarship to attend Gwynedd Mercy University as an Early Education major and then return to the district as a K-4 teacher.

Superintendent of the Wissahickon School District James Crisfield, EdD and President of Gwynedd Mercy University Deanne H. D'Emilio, JD presented Toni with the scholarship at a special ceremony at Wissahickon High School.

About the Scholarship
The Wissahickon Gwynedd Mercy University Opportunity Scholarship is a full scholarship that's awarded to one Wissahickon High School student who has expressed a desire to enter the teaching profession and plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in Education at GMercyU. The student will be selected by the District, and must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and meet GMercyU's admissions requirements. Preference will be given to a student from an underrepresented population based on The District's commitment to diversifying its teaching staff to better mirror its student body.

This scholarship is funded, in part, by a generous donor who wishes to remain anonymous.
