Digital Communications Major Maggie Kraus '22 Awarded AAUW Scholarship

At a fall banquet on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, Maggie Kraus '22 was awarded a scholarship from the American Association of University Women's Northeastern Montgomery County branch.

She was the first-ever recipient of their scholarship, given to honor the accomplishments of a female undergraduate student and AAUW member.

Maggie serves on the executive board of GMercyU's AAUW chapter, which launched last spring. A Digital Communications major, she puts her skills to use as AAUW's Communications Liaison, managing their Instagram page and marketing their news and events.

She was nominated for the scholarship by her AAUW advisors, Casey Hilferty, M.Ed, and Ali Jabara Johnston, M.S.

"Maggie has been an integral part of AAUW's success on campus since we began in March 2021. She immediately stepped into a leadership role as our Communications Liaison," said Hilferty. "Maggie is passionate about issues that affect women on our campus and on a global scale. Ali and I felt that she was a natural choice to apply for this scholarship based on her dedication to the causes AAUW supports and her hard work in spreading the word about our new campus chapter."
