In 1954, the Supreme Court held that racial segregation in public schools violated the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, prohibiting states from denying equal protection of the laws and creating fairness and equality in education. 66 years later, our educational system is systematically racist, with little to suggest that change is on the horizon. From unequal funding to differential treatment by school administrators, minority students do not have the same opportunities as white students because of their skin color.
