Manufacturers' Golf & Country Club in Fort Washington, Pa. held the 27th annual golf tournament on Monday, September 23, 2013. The clear skies and crisp, light breeze made for perfect golf weather.
The sellout crowd of 128 golfers set out a little after 12 p.m. to play the scramble-format tournament. Nobody may have driven home the new Jeep for sinking a hole-in-one, but there was a variety of raffle prizes and giveaways to claim including a $400 gift certificate to A la Maison Bistro and even a wheelbarrow of cheer.
The tournament closed out with a cocktail hour followed by a dinner buffet. Thanks to all of the generous participants and donors, Gwynedd Mercy University raised approximately $65,000 which will benefit the university's scholarship support for students.
Gwynedd Mercy University would also like to thank Manufacturers' Golf & Country Club for being a beautiful, first-class course and the hard work of committee members Mark Craney, Jay Haenn, Father John Collins, Tony Mauriello, Helen Nelson, Regina Lowrie, Mia McGlynn, and Donna Smyrl.
